Music Running Through My Head

Do you ever get a song stuck in your head, and no matter what you do, it keeps playing over and over and over? Today is one of those days. I woke up this morning, looked out the window, and the music started playing, without much effort on my part. Wanna know what I'm hearing......

Oh, the weather outside is frightful
But the fire is so delightful
And since we've no place to go
Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!!!

And yes, I was happy to look out and see the beautiful snow falling, a good reason for these frigid temps! Hubby planned ahead for this, brought his computer home from work yesterday. With the snow we woke up to, his usual hour and and a half drive would have been two and a half hours today, so he's home, with me, all day. I love my hubby, but I have my routine, and my agenda for the day. I didn't get my morning "me" time. Our plans collide on days like this. I'm hiding in my basement, trying to get my stuff done. He wants to work on taxes, together. We don't even have the documents in yet, ugh! It just might get frightful inside today, maybe I need to take a walk in the snow, where it's calm and quiet!

So now I gotta ask, is there going to be a song stuck in your head today too?

  1. There might not be any snow falling in my part of the world, but now you have that song weaving its way thru my head. :)
I hope things do not get so frightful inside that you need to take refuge in the snow. Keep warm.

  2. I much, much prefer your song Cindy! I have Justin Bieber stuck in my head for a few days!!! Help! It is thanks to our 14 year old daughter. @_@
I understand completely. I love my husband too, but.... He works third shift, has for quite a while. Before that, it was nicer. I had the days to myself, for whatever I wanted.

    1. Thankfully my boys do not sing, only listen to their music with earbuds, so I am not subjected to their choice of music. One can only stand certain music in small amounts! I worked third shift, kinda miss that time to myself!

  5. Before you even asked if I had a song running through my mind, I had one. It came as I was reading your story.

It's Everytime Two Fools Collide - by Kenny Rogers & Dottie West, released way back in 1978 (when I was a baby...hmmmm...yeah, that's right, when I was a baby). Here are the lyrics and a link to a YouTube Video. :)

    Everytime Two Fools Collide

    You want things your way
    And I want them mine
    And now we don't know
Just where to draw the line
    How long can love survive
    If we keep choosing sides
And who picks up the pieces
    Every time two fools collide

You lay the blame on me
And I, the blame on you
But why do we keep finding faults
    In everything we do
And how long can we keep right and wrongs
    So cut and dry
And who picks up the pieces
    Every time two fools collide

    We can save our love
    We still have the time
Oh, I know there must be a way
    But we still haven't tried
To keep our hearts from breaking
    Every time two fools collide

    Have a GREAT weekend!

  6. Hi Cindy,
Thank you for being my newest follower! I look forward to following you as well.
I'm so jealous you have beautiful snow to look at. It's 54 degrees here today. We haven't had any snow this winter, which makes me sad because I love snow.

    Smiles,
    Carol

    1. Although we love to look out at the snow, I keep this thought in the back of my mind-it will melt eventually, not so pretty then!

  7. Hi Cindy! That happens to me all the time! I end up humming/singing it aloud or in my head for most of the day!!
We've had a bit of snow that has stuck around due to the freezing temps. Buy hey, spring is on its way!!

    1. I do get carried away and sing aloud, love it! I would bet whoever invented the ear buds for portable music players got tired of listening to thier parents singing aloud!

  9. Have you hard the old saying-Women, can't live with them, can't live without them-guess that goes for the husbands also!
My hubby doesn't mind grocery shopping, as long as he can do it at 5am when nobody is at the store. And as long as I don't mind his unusual purchases of sardines, octopus, various other oddities. Sometimes it's hard to reign him in!
