Simple Woman's Daybook

It's been a while my friends, and it feels good to be back!

Outside my window, the rain is falling softly on the trees. The sun isn't up yet, and it's a very peaceful feeling.

I am thinking that I needed this day, this calm.

I am thankful for my job, and a compassionate boss.

In the kitchen, coffee is fresh, the smell fills the house.

I am wearing comfy pajamas, with hubby's robe. He's out of town today, and wearing it makes me feel closer to him.

I am creating a cross stitch Christmas ornament. It's been in my work in progress pile for a year, maybe it'll be on the tree this year.

I am going nowhere today.

I am wondering if it will stay this dark, this peaceful most of the day.

I am looking forward to catching up today. Didn't sleep well last night, might need to nap, case analysis to be done for school, if I start now, I might get them done by the due date. And my cross stitch projects are screaming to me that they've been ignored.

Around the house it's quiet. We are officially empty nesters now. I want to put out my fall decorations, but with the boys not around to notice, I am having a hard time getting motivated

A quote for today, Peace comes from within, do not seek it without.

Plans for the rest of the week include getting back to work tomorrow, participating in the first 5K that has almost worked into my schedule in months, and going to the nursing home to see my dad.

Hope you have a wonderful day, thanks for stopping by!

    1. Hi Vickie-yep, got a little bit of a nap. Hoping for a good, sound sleep tonight. Didn't get the decorations out, maybe this weekend.

  2. Hi Cindy, It is good to see you back. You need that ME day. I had one yesterday. I know about the doing little things that make us feel closer to our other half. Put out your fall decorations for you. You know that you enjoy them. It is dark and looks like it is going to storm today. We have had some storms the last couple of days. Take care and enjoy your day. Hugs and Prayers from Your Missouri Friend.

    1. Hi Shirley-feels good to be back. Lots going on in the past few months, but I really, really needed today. Hubby is cutting his trip short, will be home this weekend. He'll be gone again for two weeks later this month. Rain hung around all day, worse storms coming tonight. After tooth surgery yesterday, just didn't get the decorations out today, there's hope for the weekend though.

  3. I admit that I am not as motivated in recent years to put out decorations of any kind. After I stopping working some years ago, I began providing daycare for my grandchildren and now that they are all in school, I find myself procrastinating. I really do love Fall, so I should be excited to welcome the season with some festive decor. My husband, who is keen on having a few things about for every season, finally got things out of storage a couple of days ago. I knew two of my granddaughters were coming here because of early release day at school. I let them place things around the house. There is no real reason or rhyme to their little "arrangements" but I have to admit that seeing them enjoying the process brought me a lot of satisfaction too.

    1. Hi Lynn-fall has always been my favorite season, and I always love putting out the pumpkins. I really thought I would enjoy the empty nest, it's not all it's made out to be! Maybe it's just too fresh still. I have hopes of maybe pulling stuff out before the month is over!
